Shooting Activities

Shooting Activities at Bridgeport Rifle Club are comprised of Pistol/Revolver and Rifle.

Any center fire or rim fire handgun or rifle shooting pistol caliber ammunition may used. Fully automatic and similar type hand guns are never permitted for use. No rifle ammunition of any type allowed. These rules are to ensure the safety of everyone on the range and to help prevent any possible damage to the range itself. Please refer to our House & Range Rules.

Wednesday Night Pistol League

The Wednesday Night Pistol League is NRA sanctioned and focuses on competitive bullseye shooting. The Bridgeport Rifle Club hosts two leagues each year, one beginning in January, the other in September. The league is open to members and non-members alike. It begins at 5:00pm with relays running until approx. 8:00pm.

900 League

The Bridgeport Rifle Club hosts a 900 Bullseye Pistol League each month. This is a NRA sanctioned pistol league open to members and non-members alike. There will be 3 relays per night. The first relay begins at 5:30pm. Each night is a separate competition — monthly attendance is not required.

This year’s league is monthly from September through May

Falling Plate Shooting

Bridgeport Rifle Club is now offering STEEL Falling Plate Shoots, open to Members and Guests of Members.

Fun Shoots

Throughout the year, Bridgeport Rifle Club hosts a number of "Fun Shoots." These are geared towards folks enjoying something other than bullseye shooting. Competitors get to shoot at unusual skill targets in different shooting scenarios. They are open to members and non-members.

NRA Pistol Sectional

The NRA Open Sectional National Indoor Pistol Championships are held at Sectional tournaments throughout the United States. All scores are sent to the NRA where they are compiled, and a National Champion is determined.

The Bridgeport Rifle Club hosts the NRA Indoor Pistol Sectional in March of every year. The match is sponsored by the Connecticut State Rifle and Revolver Association.
